Fall-pattern awareness

Fall detection without a wearable button.

SteadyHome is being designed for the hard moment: when a person cannot press a button, forgot to wear one, or is alone after an abnormal movement pattern.

Not just stillness

A strong fall workflow should consider a sudden movement spike, floor-zone signature, post-event stillness, room context, and whether the event differs from normal routines.

Family-first alerts

The goal is practical escalation: call the senior, call a neighbor, notify family, or escalate based on a configured care plan.

Movement spike

High-intensity signal change can be one clue in a possible fall pattern.

Zone context

Bed-level stillness and floor-level stillness should not be treated the same.

Human review

Prototype alerts should support decisions, not replace caregivers or emergency services.

Research-backed, carefully stated.

Published work such as RT-Fall and WmFall supports Wi-Fi-based fall-pattern research, while SteadyHome still needs its own calibration and validation.
